Feryn Pijl 2006 The 13th edition of the Feryn Pijl has a new route. The start is in southern direction to Meise, turn around and past Londerzeel back to the north again. In Puurs we enter the Province Antwerpen. Passing the municipalities Boom, Rumst and Walem, the ponds of Battenbroek and the banks of the Dijle to arrive in the city of Mechelen. At the Grote Markt in Mechelen is stop point, where drinks and snacks are handed out to the cyclists. Next through the shoppingstreet back out of the city. Along the Leuvense Vaart again in the direction of Flemish-Brabant passing the towns of Hofstade, Boortmeerbeek, Kampenhout and Zemst, at the end via Verbrande Brug, Grimbergen, Beigem and Humbeek back to the finish in Kapelle-op-den-Bos. Gonnie waited in Mechelen to take poictures of Maurice and Filip. They both looked very good when arriving in Mechelen. Judge for yourself, pictures are at the bottom of the page. Feryn Classic The 13th edition of the Feryn Pijl Classic takes the same route untill Zemst. In Verbrande Brug the Classic goes the other way to Borgt and from there in the direction Grimbergen and Wemmel. Here the cyclist have to make the first climbs. Then past Hamme, a large cobblestone track awaits the cyclists. To Bekkerzeel, Asse and past Dilbeek to Wambeek, the gate to Pajottenland. From here it goes to Sint Katharina Lombeek, Essene and Asbeek. Th eclimbing of the Putberg is the last one in these hills. Along Mollem to Brussegem and again a cobblestone track. Via Wolvertem to Humbeek. And the route joins the Feryn Pijl again, the last kilometers are taken together back to the finish in Kapelle-op-den-Bos. Tom cycled the Classic.
