THE OLD RAILROAD TRACK, End of June 2006 the new walkingroute Spoordijk Wilnis-Vinkeveen was opened. This route can be combined with the Demmerik route. Both routes are signposted by the ANWB. The walking route Spoordijk Wilnis-Vinkeveen starts at graveyard in Wilnis. Artist Frank Bezemer made a new station here along the old railroadtrack to Vinkeveen. He named this artwork Halte 2006 (Stop 2006). A sign with the route and some (dutch) info is placed on the bridge from the graveyard parkinglot to the railroadtrack. From here we follow the old track to Vinkeveen. It is a wide gravelroad in the polder. At Vinkeveen there is a new bridge which we can cross and follow the olde track untill we pass the Vinkeveen station. (more info at the Demmerik route) We are now at point A on the map we cross the road and follow the signs of the Demmerik route. We follow the old railtrack for another half hour. It has changed to a path between green trees. At the tarmac road we go right on this road. Soon there is a sign pointed left into a small path. At the end of this narrow dike we go left on the tarmac. A long straight road, with green cow filled meadow besides it. After ignoring a road to the left there is a nice path to the right. It is called Bosdijk. Next possibility we go right on to the Veenkade. At the end we go right onto a wide tarmac road with a seperate cycling path. The first road to the left (point B). From here we follow the wandelroute Spoordijk Wilnis-Vinkeveen signs again. This road is taking us between some farms. After the farm at nr 6 we go right into the meadow. This path is closed between 1 may and 1july, because of breeding season. An alternative is going straight untill the Wilnisse Zuwe go right to Wilnis. We cross this meadow untill we are in Wilnis. The cow look surprised, but keep on grazing. Halfway i have to step over a wire, and the bridge at the end is blokked with fences. But i can easily climb that. At the end left. Cross the provincial road and follow the signs through Wilnis. We cross a river and go right under the provincial road again. The road turns left and we see the tractor chasing its little brother into the tree. It is not far before we see the parkinglot of the graveyard again.
