Australia We have been to Australia several times, a continent that feels like home. On this page you will find some links to our Australian travels.  1992 In april 1992 we decided to visit the first three motorcycle grandprix races. The season started in Japan. After Japan a race in Australia followed. At a circuit in the neighbourhood of Sydney. With a rental car we travelled through the area. Besides to Sydney we have also visited the Blue Mountains. A short story and some pictures here. 1994 Because we thought we didn't see enough of Australia we went back in 1994. A rental car drove us up the coast to Cairns. We wanted to dive at the reef but the weather spoiled it. So we just saw the reef from the shore. We flew to Alice Springs. And another rental car took us to Ayers Rock. The road from Ayers Rock to Darwin is terribly dull. It is 2000 km straight. From the only 4 cars we encountered on one day, people waved Because we were very boared we waved back like our life depended on it. Pictures can be found here.  1997 In 1997 we went back to the southern hemisphere. This time we wanted to dive at the reef. But because we already saw some of Australia we decided to start the trip in New Zealand. After a week on the northern island we flew over the reef to Cairns. En this time the weather was good. we did dive on the reef. It was beautiful. You can find pictures here.
